Airtable’s tables come in the familiar rows-and-columns style (yes, like spreadsheets, but cooler), and this plugin swoops in to fetch that data straight from Airtable to your website. Use and Functionality
To Integrate Airtable plugin is your website’s new best friend for easily snagging data from Airtable and displaying it. Here’s how to put it to work—don’t worry, it’s simpler than assembling IKEA furniture.
Download and Activate the Plugin
First, grab the plugin, activate it on your website, and feel like a tech genius in no time.
- Air Sync Custom Post Type
After activating the plugin, a shiny new custom post type called "Air Sync" will appear in your dashboard—like magic, but with fewer wands.
This custom post type will be the home for posts created from your Airtable data—like a VIP lounge for your synced content.
- Configuring the Plugin
After activation, head to the plugin’s settings to make the magic happen. Fill in the required fields to connect with Airtable—think of it as matchmaking for your data!
How to Get Credentials to Integrate Airtable Plugin
Base ID
- Go to the Link - https://airtable.com/login
- Select the sheet and copy the ID which you can see in screenshot below.
Table ID
- Copy the Table ID
How to create Access Token
1. Go to the url - https://airtable.com/create/tokens
2. Go to “Personal Access Token”
3. Click on “Create New Button”
4. Enter “Name” of token
5. “Add scopes” of your table
6. Click on “Create Token” Button
7. Copy “Access token”
Once you update the required fields. The “Sync airtable columns names” section will display.
- Fetching Airtable Column Names
Once you've updated the required fields, the configuration section will display additional options. Click the "Fetch Airtable Columns Names" button to retrieve the column names from your Airtable table.
- Column Field Mapping with API
After fetching the column names, a new section called "Column Field Mapping with API" will appear.
Here, the column names from your Airtable table will be listed, and you'll need to map them to specific fields in your WordPress posts.
For example, if you want the Airtable "Movie Name" column to serve as the post title, select "Movie Name" from the column list and choose "Title" from the Select Field key. This will use the Movie Name from Airtable as the post's title.
Note: You can’t rename the columns (Airtable rules, after all), but you can choose which column data maps to your WordPress fields—customizing like a pro!
- Create or Update Records
Once you've mapped all the necessary fields, click "Create or Update Records". The plugin will now begin creating posts based on the Airtable records.
- Posts Creation Complete
Your posts will be created from the Airtable data, and you can now view or edit them as needed.
